I already have a domain registered. How can I host it at NCS?

In order to host your domain at NCS, your domain record must point to our nameservers. Nameservers are computers on the Internet that resolve text-based site names into the numeric addresses that your computer can use. Domain registrars, such as Network Solutions, require that there be two nameservers for each domain in the registry. This provides redundancy in case one nameserver is not operational.

At Northstar Computer Systems, we operate two nameservers for our customers. When you are making the change with your domain registrar, you should point to the following nameservers:

  • NS1.NORTHCOMP.COM (209.131.193.195)
  • NS2.NORTHCOMP.COM (209.131.193.196)

Some registrars require the IP addresses of the nameservers, in addition to the name, so those are provided here as well.

If you have a name that you want to add to an existing account, make the changes above and then submit a support request with the name of the domain and how you want traffic handled. We can put a domain "on top" of another domain (a .com and .net would typically be placed on top of each other), or we can have a domain name redirect into a folder of your web site. Just ask...we can probably accommodate your needs.
