MCSD Course Catalog
If you're a developer or want to be one, the Microsoft Official Curriculum courses that we teach can help you achieve that goal. The MCSD requirements are available online. While we don't teach all the available electives, you're sure to find something of interest in the catalog. Training can be delivered on site at your facility, thus saving you travel costs and lost productivity.

ASP.NET and Web Services

ASP.NET makes building real world Web applications dramatically easier. ASP.NET server controls enable an HTML-like style of declarative programming that let you build great pages with far less code than with classic ASP. Unlike classic ASP, which supports only interpreted VBScript and JScript, ASP.NET now supports more than 25 .NET languages (including built-in support for VB.NET, C#, and JScript.NET -- no tool required), giving you unprecendented flexibility in your choice of language.

Course 1905: Building XML-based Web Applications
Course 2063: Introduction to Microsoft ASP.NET
Course 2091: Building XML-Enabled Applications Using Microsoft SQL Server 2000
Course 2310: Developing Microsoft ASP.NET Web Applications Using Visual Studio .NET
Course 2524: Developing XML Web Services Using Microsoft ASP.NET

Below are the classes that we teach that deal with SQL Server. The current MCSD-related tests for SQL Server are available for both SQL 7.0 and SQL Server 2000.

Course 2071: Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Transact-SQL
Course 2072: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000
Course 2073: Programming a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database
Course 833: Implementing a Database on Microsoft SQL Server 7.0

Visual Basic .NET

Microsoft .NET is Microsoft's platform for creating and using Extensible Markup Language (XML)-based Web services. This platform will enable developers to create programs that transcend device boundaries and harness the connectivity of the Internet, as well as help them be more productive with their time. The .NET platform also represents a fundamental shift in development technology. Microsoft developer training is here to make getting up to speed on .NET easier.

Course 2350: Developing and Deploying Secure Microsoft .NET Framework Applications
Course 2373: Programming with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET
Course 2389: Programming with Microsoft ADO.NET
Course 2415: Programming with the Microsoft .NET Framework (Microsoft Visual Basic .NET)
Course 2559: Introduction to Visual Basic .NET Programming with Microsoft .NET

Visual Basic 6.0

Knowledge of one language is a core requirement of the MCSD certification, and Visual Basic is the most popular choice. It's easy to learn but it has a lot of features that you may never have used. The courses in this section will help fill out your knowledge of Visual Basic 6.0 in order to pass the tests. You also have the option to choose C++ or FoxPro to fulfill your requirement, but VB is by far the most popular language to use. Two language tests are required, and the courses listed below will cover your requirements using Visual Basic 6.0.

Course 1013: Mastering Microsoft VB 6.0 Development
Course 1016: Enterprise Development Using Visual Basic 6.0
Course 1298: Distributed Application Design and Development Using Visual Studio 6.0

Visual C# .NET

C# was created to be the programming language best suited for writing enterprise applications for .NET. C# combines the high productivity of Microsoft Visual BasicĀ® with the raw power of C++. It is a simple, object-oriented, and type-safe programming language that is based on the C and C++ family of languages.

Course 2124: Programming with C#
Course 2349: Programming Microsoft .NET Framework with Microsoft Visual C#
Course 2555: Developing Microsoft .NET Applications for Windows (Visual C# .NET)
